"A" Section of the Green River
The "A" Section of the Green River extends from just below the Flaming Gorge Dam downstream approximately 7.2 miles to the Little Hole Day Use Area. Photo below is taken from the Little Hole Overlook.
There is an excellent trail for wade fisherman, but the best way to experience the Green River is from a drift boat or rubber raft. The trout in the Green River can mostly be found near the banks; hikers and wade fisherman tend to scare the fish out into deeper water. Some of the best flyfishing success can be found by "slamming the banks" from a boat...a technique taught us by the excellent guides from Trout Creek Flies.
